CHILD THERAPY SERVICES

Picture

PRACTICE AREAS

I offer therapy to children, teens, and young adults who may be experiencing:
  • anxiety or anxious symptoms
  • low mood or depressive symptoms
  • difficulty regulating emotions
  • challenges managing stress
I also work closely with parents and caregivers to support your child’s wellbeing at home—because healing happens best when we work as a team.

AGES

I support individuals aged 4 and up, through the early years, teen years, and into young adulthood.

LOCATION

In-person sessions are available in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and online sessions are also offered for families across the province.

APPROACH TO TREATMENT

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is enriched by training in Mindfulness and Behavioural Techniques. Sessions are tailored to each child’s unique needs and often include play-based strategies, offering a safe and creative space for expression, exploration, and growth.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps kids and teens understand how their thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected. Together, we gently explore any unhelpful thought patterns (sometimes called "thinking traps") and find new ways of thinking and responding. CBT can help build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and support kids in handling life’s challenges with more confidence.

PLAY-BASED TECHNIQUES

Play-based techniques give kids the chance to express themselves in ways beyond words—through sand tray, drawing, music, and imaginative play. Since children make sense of their world differently than adults, play becomes a powerful and natural way to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This approach meets them right where they are—engaging, meaningful, and just right for growing minds.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening right now—on purpose, and with kindness. It helps kids notice their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations without judging them. With practice, mindfulness can build calm, focus, and a better understanding of what’s going on inside.

THERAPY FEES

SESSION & CONSULT FEES

A 50-minute psychotherapy session is $195.00.
Payment is made by e-transfer following each session. Please note that debit and credit card payments are not available at this time.

INSURANCE & COVERAGE

Psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP and may not be included in all extended health insurance plans. Please check with your provider (e.g., Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life) to confirm whether your plan covers services offered by a Registered Psychotherapist.
At this time, direct billing is not available, so clients are responsible for submitting receipts to their provider for reimbursement.
If you don’t have coverage, it’s helpful to know that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recognizes non-reimbursed psychotherapy services as a medical expense eligible for a tax credit.
