LEARNING TO BE A HELPERI have always been curious about how people think, feel, and connect. That’s why I studied Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Ottawa (2012)—so that I could understand both brains and communication! I later completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Behavioural Science Technology at St. Lawrence College (2013), and learned even more about how to support children and families in meaningful ways.
In 2018, I added something close to my heart- mindfulness. I trained as a teacher in Mindfulness-Based Symptom Management through the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic (2018), helping both kids and grown-ups find calm in their day-to-day lives. I am a proud member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Registration #004019). I believe learning never really ends—so am regularly signing up for new trainings to stay inspired, informed, and ready to support the families I work with. I am the (very) proud recipient of the 2025 She Inspires Award, awarded by the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. |
GROWING UP WITH BIG FEELINGSWhen I was little, I felt things a lot. Loud sounds, busy places, big feelings—they all made my heart beat faster. I was what some people call a highly sensitive kid, meaning I noticed little things others might have missed, cared deeply about how people felt, and sometimes needed quiet time to feel okay again. For a while, I thought being sensitive was a problem… but I grew up to learn that it’s actually one of my greatest strengths. Now, I love to use that superpower to understand and support other kids with big hearts and big feelings—just like me.

HAVE YOU CHECKED OUT PAUSE & PLAY YET? THIS IS AN OFFERING ESPECIALLY SUPPORTIVE FOR BIG FEELINGS AND HIGHLY SENSITIVE CHILDREN,
(CREATED WITH MY YOUNGER SELF IN MIND)
OUTSIDE OF THE THERAPY SPACEWhen I'm not helping kids, you’ll find me on the water boating or paddleboarding, gardening or out biking, hiking or jogging through nature. I love yoga and am learning about Ayurveda—which is all about keeping the body and mind in balance with the seasons. I love spending time with friends and family, and my go-to calm-down tricks are deep breaths, going on a fast walk, and soaking up nature’s little wonders. These help me stay joyful and ready to listen and play.
